Boy, I feel like this is a question that could have a lot of answers; I always feel like I am working toward lots of goals.
I’ll pick one, though, which is sort of two.
At the beginning of this year, Lisey told me about the language app, Drops. It gives you five minutes a day on the free plan, and we know I like free.
So, every night, I’ve been doing five minutes of Spanish practice, and while I do that, I do some stretching, mainly for my hips and my neck.
I have tried to be faithful with stretching before, but I always have trouble sticking with it because stretching is extremely boring.
The Drops practice, though, makes my stretching time interesting and entertaining.
As I write this, I’m on a streak of 62 days of doing Drops, and by association, 62 days of doing my stretches.
Five or so minutes every day is not a lot of Spanish practice or a lot of stretching. But over time, the consistency of five minutes, over and over and over again, promises to add up.
I know 321 words now! And I can tell that I am getting more flexible.

Stretching IS boring, isn’t it? For awhile I had gotten into the habit of stretching while my coffee was brewing–so, like you, only about five minutes–but I dropped that sometime ago for no good reason. I was just thinking I needed to get going on that again.
My goal at the moment is weight loss. Not really for reasons of appearance–I don’t look that heavy, nor was I unhappy with how I looked–but for health. There is some history in my family of adult onset diabetes, and that can definitely be prevented by good diet and a healthy weight. My weight was getting into the unhealthy range, and I could tell I was starting to feel some symptoms of early prediabetes. I was literally making myself sick with the food I was eating. So. Stop eating the foods I know will cause me to be sick, and lose weight. Two months in, ten pounds down, another fifteen to go.

That’s a great tip of doing 2 things at once. I really should start doing that.
Personal goal: Be more present with my kids and apologize when I lose my temper. Breaking the cycle.

Stop eating sweets, including chocolate, cookies, cake and ice cream except for once a week. I have always liked the idea of giving something up for Lent, it helps exercise my self control muscles which sometimes get pretty flabby. I grew up in a house and at a boarding school where you got sweets once a week, on Sunday afternoon after our Sunday meal. Lately it seems that I could not eat a meal without finishing it with a sweet, and I was also eating sweets for snacks instead of fruit. So, I have used Lent to jump start my goal of going back to having a dessert only once a week and going back to snacking on fruit. I feel better when I reduce the sugar, but I forget that. My husband is fine with this, although he did say that when he is off running errands he *may* run into the random donut. Even with that, his sugar consumption will be down a lot, too. And I appreciate him supporting me in this by not consuming donuts (his nemesis) in front of me.

Drink more water. I’m a migraine person. I have lots of triggers but not enough water if one of them. I just don’t care go drink anything so I have to force myself to drink more. My migraines have doubled recoup I definitely need to focus on this.
Stretching would help too-thanks for the reminder!

Starting a website in order to become more independent of facebook.
Sometimes I’m pretty sure I should just fling my phone and computer in a pond in the spirit of the Luddites. Realistically, that would be discarding a career, rather than preserving one, and I’m not sure I have the wherewithal for that.
