Kristen, prompted

January 1, 2020

Goals I have for this year

I’ve been coming up a little dry in this arena for 2020.

But I finally got Spotify and I’ve been listening to Lauren Daigle’s music a lot.

And one line from her Salt and Light song has stuck in my head:

Let my life be a song, revealing who you are…

I think more than anything else, that is what I want; to live my life in a way that shows Jesus in me.

I want to love my enemies instead of repaying evil for evil.

I want to forgive, even when someone won’t say they are sorry.

I want to be kind even to people who aren’t kind to me.

I want to give when there’s little chance of reciprocation.

These aren’t things I naturally want to do. But Jesus lives in me, and because of that, I can be like Him.

What’s Kristen Prompted?

Originally, it was me, writing from a list of daily prompts.

But for the moment, I’m using it to share the small essays I’ve written over the last two years, since my evangelical self left my marriage.

Because I don’t want this to be an internet tabloid, the new posts here are only available to members of my Patreon community.

My main blog is The Frugal Girl, if you’d like to read more of my words! All posts there are free.
