Geez. I’m not sure what to say here! If you’ve read all of my posts here and on my main blog, there’s an awful lot you do know about me.
Let’s see.
I think most people that meet me don’t have any idea that I am a classically trained pianist.
(though you all already know that!)
Most people don’t know that I have an internal compass, which means that I can pretty reliably tell you what’s north, south, east, and west no matter where I am, just based on feel.
Most people don’t know when I am struggling because I usually only open up about that to a few people.
Most people don’t know that I can do a flip off a diving board (thanks to childhood gymnastics lessons).
Most people don’t know that I love fast roller coasters.

I don’t have a belly button. When I was a kid, it was fun to pull my shirt up and shock people but I’m a little too old for that now. It’s still fun to tell people I don’t have a belly button because I was hatched, but the truth is I had an umbilical hernia when I was a baby so to my personal memory, I’ve never had one. This was probably tmi, but you asked! 😉

Most people do not know that I never drink alcohol. I just quietly turn it down when offered, and drink water or soda when out to eat. I never talk about it, and only a few close friends and my siblings have realized that I never drink. I have no problem with others drinking, and am fine with people bringing their own alcohol to my house. I have seen alcohol have some horrible effects on some lives, and have decided that it is not for me.

I was born in Hawaii. Didn’t seem like a big deal at the time, it was all that I knew, but once we moved away, I realized that it was very special to spend my first 10 years there!

I think one thing people don’t know about me and are often surprised by is that I did not grow up on a farm or anything. I had no preparation for my current life other than the fact that my parents, despite living in suburbia, were very much into learning how to do things themselves. That attitude is the key to this life I live now.
But I did not learn how to can or butcher as a child. Never saw anything like that until I was an adult. I’m a self-made country girl. 🙂

Gosh, my life is a pretty open book for the people I do know.
I don’t talk to very many people (thank you, introversion). Most people don’t know anything about me because most people are fine …. over there.
Presented with the prompt, I will say that casual acquaintances seem surprised if it comes up that I was in piano lessons from second grade to my sophomore year of college, even on scholarship for a few semesters.

I am tri-lingual. I love Velveeta more than brie. I have published trashy romance novels under another name; they helped pay my way through grad school. That name I write under is the same as the one I gave an imaginary friend when I was a youngster, and insisted my father set a place at the table for her, so this alter ego has lived with me for over 50 years. I really, really dislike babies; until kids hit their teens I have very little interest in them.

I am not ticklish.
I have Elvis memorabilia in my basement that I inherited from my grandma.
I am a vegetarian but cook meat for my family.
