Kristen, prompted

Do you believe in soul mates?

This could be a very short post: no.

But, here are some more words. 😉

I think there are a number of people walking the planet that I could be partnered with, and I think the same is true for Mr. FG.

In this broken world, no one is going to be THE PERFECT PARTNER. Everyone has faults and flaws, everyone is annoying sometimes, everyone is a lousy partner sometimes.

(and that includes me!)

I was chatting about this with Sonia and Zoe, and I was telling them that I think the idea of soulmates puts a lot of pressure on both parties.

I personally don’t want the pressure of being someone’s soulmate…that seems like an impossible thing to live up to.

And I wouldn’t have wanted the pressure, while dating, to figure out who my soulmate. I imagine that any time something felt not 100% fantastic, it would make a person wonder if this current dating partner is not, in fact, THE soulmate.

So, I could see this soulmate concept possibly making people skip over a perfectly good partner, in the search of a perfect soulmate who may not even exist.

I’m curious to know where your prompts are coming from!

Mostly I’m following the ones from here: https://www.rustico.com/blogs/news/365-writing-prompts-to-inspire-you-everyday

They’re meant for a private journal, though, so I’m skipping over some of the prompts that would not be entirely appropriate for public consumption! 🙂

I agree that it may be too much pressure when dating to be looking for a soulmate. However, when you have been married for 23 years to a person who you believe to be the love of your life, with whom you are still madly in love (just like the first 2 years but better), I believe he is my soulmate.

      I see your point there!

Maybe I should have said I don’t think there’s just ONE soulmate out there for people. But when you’ve happily been with someone for 23 years, you can probably assume they are one of your soulmates. 🙂

What’s Kristen Prompted?

It’s me, writing from a list of daily prompts!

Although I always have a lot going on in my head, those thoughts can tend to stay cooped up in my brain.

But when I’m asked what I think about something, then I feel like I have permission to let some of my thoughts out.

So, this blog is a collection of daily essays, written because the list of daily prompts gave me permission to type. 😉

My main blog is The Frugal Girl, if you’d like to read more of my words!
