3 Favorite TV Shows

I don’t watch a lot of TV, because I’m more inclined to waste hours on other sorts of screen time.

So this is more like a list of the only TV shows I’ve faithfully watched in the last five years.

Downton Abbey

I watched most of this with Mr. FG back when it was an ongoing show, and then Sonia and I watched the entire thing from start to finish last summer.

(I knew Sonia would enjoy all the costumes!)

It’s full of small interpersonal dramas, which are my favorite (not in real life; just on the screen!)

The Crown

Sonia and I are currently working through this (we’re on season two), and I like it because it’s not super dissimilar to Downton Abbey.

Although Sonia and I both agree that 1920s fashions are better than the ones in The Crown.

Call the Midwife

I watched a bunch of episodes of this show a few years ago when I was sick, and I really enjoyed it.

I love British dramas (as already discussed. Ha.), and since I’ve thought about becoming a labor and delivery nurse in the future, the midwifery part of the show is also interesting to me.

What are your three favorite TV shows?

I tried The Crown, but I just couldn’t get into it. I much prefer Victoria from PBS. It’s really well done and the costumes and set design are stunning. I also really enjoy The Rookie and Castle.

I’m also not a TV watcher (ummm, I don’t even know how to turn ours on :D). Here are the shows I’ve watched – Downton Abbey, The Crown, and The Office. I read/listened to the Call the Midwife series. So good!

Downton! Although, i couldn’t get past the demise, ahem, of certain key characters, so i have to buck up and face the rest of the series. And movie! Did love the costumes.
Almost anything British, for sure. Mysteries and dramas.
Lately, we watched a lot of the old “Third Rock from the Sun” series from the 90s. So so funny. John Lithgow is amazing and we giggled our way through it.

Like Cecilia above, I loved Victoria. Call the Midwife is great, but… I am a real-life midwife/labour unit RN (same thing here in sunny SA), and let me tell you: It is NOT all like Call the Midwife! It’s rewarding, and heartbreaking, and a great privilege, but other than that, nothing like it!

Haha, yes, I assume the reality is quite different!
